Storm Warning for Northeast and Midwest United States
Northeast and Midwest of the United States is bracing for a nasty powerful storm that will arrive on Thursday night and linger into the middle of the day on Friday before the first big blast of Arctic air this season sweeps in and pushes temperatures down into the low single digits, possible creating a dangerous “flash freeze.” Forecasters say the wild weather will include 3 inches of rain, wind gusts as strong as 50 to 60 mph, widespread coastal flooding and the possibility of brief snow showers or flurries at the tail end of the storm.
This will negatively affect the intermodal trucking operations, vessel operators, railroads and air carriers while possibly causing cancellations, delays and shutdown of port operations, rail ramps, terminals and container freight stations during this weekend and on Christmas Day. Please be advised that this storm could cause interruptions all over the U.S. including NY/NJ, Philadelphia, Savannah, Charleston, Boston, Chicago and even down to Miami area.
In any case, the WeFreight USA team is reachable via email during the storm, and if needed please do not hesitate to call us on our cell phones.
