Job purpose
Sales Position in our Culver City, CA office.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Independently develop new customer relationships and bring new business on board
- Meet established margin and budget targets
- Provide clear and proactive communication to our customers and ensuring all business requirements are understood and being met
- Take accountability in ensuring each job is being completed to the requirements communicated and drive results through others
- Facilitate any tracking, tracing, or reporting required by the customer
- Grow revenue and relationships with existing customer base.
- Generate leads through cold calling, networking, and referrals.
- Utilize inside sales knowledge.
- Quote formal and spot bids.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction- maintain close contact with all customers– including follow up on concerns or other issues.
- Communicate effectively with customers, shippers, and receivers regarding changes in pick-up/delivery and potential service failures.
- Communicate customer problems to management.
- Exceed all standards for prospecting calls, presentations, proposals, and closes.
- Provide documented activity reports of your sales efforts on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Execute and monitor strategic and tactical goals to maximize sales, profit and to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded.

Background and experience
- Graduate/ Bachelor level education in Logistics major or equivalent years of sales experience in forwarding.
- Experience of 3-5 years freight forwarding sales.
- Knowledge of Ocean freight movements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Superior phone etiquette.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Time management and organizational skills
- Presentation skills when under pressure and tight work deadlines
- Interest in freight forwarding and supply chain management and its impact on daily business practices.
- Skilled at working in tandem, with a team of people, or alone as required.
